So I was reading the comments to see if this had been suggested and nope. Here it is, I know you said Ogre Slumlord is one of your favorite cards but what about Sifter of Skulls. It does the same effect and is 1 mana cheaper. Also the tokens these guys give let you sac them to help trigger other effects for your deck and even ramp if you want.

It's CLOSE to the same effect. Ogre Slumlord is so valuable because it triggers whenever ANY creature dies, not just one of mine. The fact that he also gives me deathtouch blockers is more valuable (IMO) than the ramp given that one of the first cards I tutor for is Sakura-Tribe Elder.
