Gatecrash Playtesting —Feb. 4, 2013

Overall I feel the addition of Blind Obedience to be something the deck's been needing for awhile, not only does it slow down the hasty threats Red deck wins and possibly boros field, but it can turn all the cards that would normally be dead in a mirror match into uncounterable life drain, with the change my deck is already turning towards more of a pinging my opponent to death deck instead of the powerful mill spells.

I would add black for Nephalia Drownyard because that with jace would be pretty good

i'm wondering a few things...do you have any trouble getting slowed down by the guidlgates? also, are you running only 1 snapcaster for a reason or is it just what you're budgeted for? i like the list, don't take any of this as negative criticism.

capriom85 to answer your questions the guildgates I find to be necessary for consistently getting the right combination of colored mana, in my testing I found 3 copies to be good enough for this effect without causing a noticeable slow down in the game, though I don't know if slowed down would be the right term for this deck as it isn't fast by nature.

As for the only snapcaster that is deliberate (I do own a play set) as the deck has almost no use for the body and it's usually used as an extra counterspell, an extra Revelation, and those rare games that I'm losing to another mill strategy and I need to flashback a Psychic Spiral .

For the deck overall I will admit that it's starting to feel a little stale, even though there hasn't been a tournament that I've attended with it yet I didn't walk away with some of the prize pool. The control game can be boring and I hope to find room for some of the gatecrash.
