That being said, I feel that my deck construction ability has really increased in the past year or so with taking things like mana curves into consideration where as before I relied almost purely on luck. I really believed every had deck had to have 20 land at the most and if it was a dual colored deck, to use 10 of each.
In high school I had a mono-red deck that was based purely around trying to burn the opponent(s) down before they could kill me. It had 0 creatures and features cards like Sulfuric Vortex, AEther Flash, Browbeat, and Breaking Point. It was a blast to play and amazingly enough won a decent amount of the time.
