Vizkopa Guildmage + Tree of Perdition

Asked by goodair 7 years ago

If I was to Tree of Perdition myself to 13 life before my turn starts, then bring it back up after I untap it, does Vizkopa Guildmage second ability work?

First off, Tree of Perdition specifies target opponent.

If you had Tree of Redemption, then I can answer the question.

Whenever an effect sets a player's lifetotal, the player is counted as having gained/lost that much life. So if you have Tree of Redemption and you activate it while at 3 life, you gain 10 life, and Vizkopa Guildmage makes you opponent lose 10.

Hopefully this is what you wanted to know.

Adding to that:

If an opponent was at 20, and you Tree of Perditioned them, it would count as them losing 7 life, so something like Exquisite Blood would have you gain 7.

Ok thank you! I overlooked the fact you can only choose an opponent.
