Turn//burn and Goblin Electromancer
Asked by shadowfoxxx 12 years ago
As I am understanding it, the Electromancer will lower the cost of any spell by one. Is the fuse cost for turn//burn going to be 2 RU or 1RU? I guess I'm asking if the fuse mechanic makes these split cards one spell or still counts them as being separate? This is also helpful for Blistercoil Weird . Thank you for your help.
IF you fuse together split cards like Turn / Burn it will count as 1 multi-coloured spell (which is important to note if something has protection from multi-coloured) Otherwise when you cast either half of it it counts as a mono-coloured spell (Turn costing 1U and Burn costing R with your goblin in play) As such you'll have to pay a total of 3UR inorder to cast it fused, with Goblin Electromancer the cost will be reduced one so it becomes 2UR. Also since it is just one spell Blistercoil Weird only triggers once

A fused split card counts as a single spell, and as DukeNicky pointed out, becomes all the colors of both halves. So Turn / Burn would become a multicolored blue/red spell, while Breaking / Entering would go from being either a blue/black spell or a black/red spell to a blue/black/red spell. Important to note with certain creatures. While you can target a Skylasher with the Burn half of Turn / Burn , when you fuse it the spell is multicolored and Skylasher has protection from blue, and thus can no longer be targeted by the Burn portion.

A fused split spell counts as one spell. As such Electromancer will only lower the total cost by (1) and Blistercoil Weird will only trigger once.
