Totem armor

Asked by baldiNL 13 years ago

Hello there,

So the question i have is as follows:

Say i have a Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves enchanted with Hyena UmbraMTG Card: Hyena Umbra and someone casts a Doom BladeMTG Card: Doom Blade on him. This will make the Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves live and i have to destroy the Hyena UmbraMTG Card: Hyena UmbraSo far this is clear, However

what if we take the same Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves enchanted with Hyena UmbraMTG Card: Hyena Umbra and Spider UmbraMTG Card: Spider Umbra and my opponent casts a Doom BladeMTG Card: Doom Blade. How i see it i have to remove BOTH aura's from my elf because the text does not state "Remove A totem armor".

So question short: if i have a creature with multiple totem armor and it dies will all totem armor's be detroyed?

cheers and thanks

Baldin

No, not all of the Umbras are destroyed. Only one of your choice.

Totem Armor is a replacement effect. So you, as the controller, get to decide which one replaces the "Destroy" effect of Doomblade. Once the effect is replaced, there is nothing for the other copy of Totem Armor to replace, so it does nothing to the second Umbra.
