Sydri's animated artifacts and end of turn flicker
Asked by TheMagi 8 years ago
Let's say that an artifact is made into a creature using Sydri, Galvanic Genius. If I have Conjurer's Closet on the field, can I flicker the artifact before it loses it's creature designation?
If I flicker an animated artifact does it come back at all?
I'm considering the implications of Sydri + Conjurer's Closet or Eldrazi Displacer

(Type also matters when the ability starts to resolve)
The thing is that once a spell or ability starts acting on an object it continues to track that object and effect it, even if its characteristics change, until the spell or ability is finished resolving.

Yes, the Closet triggers at the beginning of the end step, while the Animate effect lasts until the end of the cleanup step. Your animated artifact is a legal target.
When it's exiled, it will return as a non-animated artifact. The Closet only cares that it's a creature at the time of the ability triggering.
