Super Odd Question

Asked by Toodz111 6 years ago

If I go attacking with an animated 6/6 Gideon Jura by using his last ability, and my opponent flashes in a Stunt Double attempting to become a copy of Gideon, what would happen?

Would Stunt Double die as a state-based action because it copies the creature and planeswalker types of Gideon and has no loyalty counters on him?

Would he just become a 6/6 white Gideon Jura planeswalker creature with "Prevent all damage that would be dealt to this guy" ?

Would he enter the battlefield with loyalty counters because he's a planeswalker? (if he copies the planeswalker type).

Would Gideon just be an illegal target????

Pls give answer.

It would be an un-animated planeswalker with 6 loyalty counters on it. Gideon is a valid choice for the Clone effect because he is a creature. However the copiable values do not include the type changing effect that made Gideon a creature. The copiable values do include starting loyalty so the Stunt Double will get that.

706.2. When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original objects characteristics and, for an object on the stack, choices made when casting or activating it (mode, targets, the value of X, whether it was kicked, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on). The copiable values are the values derived from the text printed on the object (that text being name, mana cost, color indicator, card type, subtype, supertype, rules text, power, toughness, and/or loyalty), as modified by other copy effects, by its face-down status, and by as . . . enters the battlefield and as . . . is turned face up abilities that set power and toughness (and may also set additional characteristics). Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and counters are not copied.
