Strionic Resonator
Asked by Silentfrowny 11 years ago
Just to clarify. Strionic Resonator copies a triggered ability, so would the following examples work?
I deal combat damage to a player with Mirco Vosk, Mind Drinker which makes my opponent mill until he mills four lands, and then I pay 2 and tap Strionic Resonator to make him mill again until he mills 4 lands?
and, when a creature evolves, can I activate Strionic Resonator to put another counter on the evolved creature?
and, lets say I have 5 +1+1 counters on Vastwood Hydra . Upon death, I get to distribute its 5 +1+1 counters to any creature on my side of the field, with Strionic Resonator does it double to 10 +1+1 counters instead?
p.s. thank you for tolerating with this post and for answering all my questions.
Please link all cards in question.
Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker
The first and third examples are correct. You must copy the trigger on the stack (before it resolves) but otherwise that will happen as you describe.
You can copy an evolve trigger with Strionic Resonator, but because evolve has an "intervening if clause", the creature that triggered evolve must have higher power or toughness when each trigger resolves. For example, if you evolved a Simic Manipulator with a Gyre Sage and copied the evolve trigger, you would only put 1 counter on the Manipulator, as when the second trigger resolves, Gyre Sage will no longer be bigger than the Manipulator, so evolve won't do anything.

Yes all of these would work with Strionic Resonator . Another great combo with Strionic Resonator is Necropolis Regent .
