Soul bound and protection

Asked by Ayleron 12 years ago

If I have a creature soulbound to a Silverblade Paladin and I equip a Sword of War and Peace will that end the soulbinding? Can a Mirran Crusader soulbind with a Wolfir Silverheart ?

The soulbond ability doesn't target either creature, It happens as one creature or the other enters the battlefield. So protection shouldn't be an issue when pairing creatures.

As BrokenZygoma said, Soulbond does nothing that protection stops.

The Acronym DEBT would be useful here.

D- Damage

E- Enchant/Equip

B- Block

T-Target

If a creature has protection from white as in your example, it cannot be assigned damage from a white source, it cannot be enchanted by a white aura, (or equipped with a white equipment), it cannot be blocked by a white creature and cannot be targeted by a white source.

Soulbound does none of these so you're good.
