Selfless Squires Activation Time

My question involves Selfless Squire and Warstorm Surge.

The argument is whether the squire enters the battlefield as a 1/1 or a 1+X/1+X (where X is the damage you prevented).

Will Warstorm trigger before or after the counters are placed on the Squire?

Selfless Squire always enters the battlefield as a 1/1, but Warstorm Surge doesn't actually care about what the creature enters as it cares about the creature's power when the trigger resolves.

Still unless your opponent intentionally pumps Selfless Squire by putting a damaging spell or ability on the stack after the Squire enters but before the Surge resolves It should be a 1/1 at that time too. This is because you have to prevent damage before it happens so if you cast Selfless Squire in response to a spell or ability to prevent damage from it the Warstorm Surge trigger is also going to go on the stack on top of the damaging spell or ability. If you cast it to prevent combat damage you will have to do so be fore the combat damage step and the Warstorm Surge trigger will also be before the combat damage step.
