Scion of Ur-Dragon and Colossal Gravereaver
Asked by Chaospyke 1 month ago
With Scion of the Ur-Dragon on the battlefield. Activate its ability, then hold priority to activate its ability again. With the first resolution, search Colossal Grave-Reaver. That card goes to the graveyard and Scion becomes a copy of it. With the second resolution, search any other legal option (doesn't matter what) Will Scion as a copy of Colossal Gravereaver have its ability trigger to return the second search creature to the battlefield before it becomes a copy of that creature?
Colossal Grave-Reaver is a new card with the text:
"Flying
Whenever this creature enters or attacks, mill three cards.
Whenever one or more creature cards are put into your graveyard from your library, put one of them onto the battlefield."

So, I misread the question until literally just now after I posted that. Yes, the ability will trigger. It will not be able to go on the stack until the Scion activation is done resolving. but it will still trigger and will be put on the stack the next time a player would receive priority.

for even more fun, make Bladewing the Risen the 2nd target to revive the grave reaver, mill 3 and possibly get another dragon.

Scion puts the card into the graveyard and becomes a copy of it as the resolution of a single ability. No player receives priority and triggers will not go on the stack (much less resolve) before Scion is a copy of what it searches out. The Colossal Grave-Reaver trigger will still see the card entering the graveyard and trigger, eventually putting the card into the battlefield. Scion will just be a copy of that dragon before it enters.
