Rule 110.5g question
Asked by Sirbink 6 years ago
If rule 110.5g is
110.5g A token that has left the battlefield can't move to another zone or come back onto the battlefield. If such a token would change zones, it remains in its current zone instead. It ceases to exist the next time state-based actions are checked; see rule 704.
"If such a token would change zones, it remains in its current zone instead." Dose this mean tokens no longer enter the graveyard for triggers?

Gift of Immortality isn't the best example, since state-based actions will erase the token before the triggered ability will resolve anyway. This rule was introduced to prevent unintended and unintuitive interactions with cards like Momentary Blink , where an object is moved from the battlefield to exile and back again all within the resolution of a single effect, or some bizarre corner cases involving token copies of Panglacial Wurm .

First, there is a Rules Q&A section for rules questions. That section has some added functionality, such as the ability to "Mark as Answer" a post to indicate that you no longer need assistance. I have gone ahead and moved your post.
To answer your question:
You are misreading the rule. Notice how it says "has left the battlefield"--past tense. This rule deals with situations where the token has already moved to a non-battlefield zone, but an effect, such as Gift of Immortality , might move it elsewhere.
As a point of comparison, Rule 101.5f states:
A token that's in a zone other than the battlefield ceases to exist. This is a state-based action; see rule 704. (Note that if a token changes zones, applicable triggered abilities will trigger before the token ceases to exist.)
This rule sets forth that tokens can change zones (which rule 101.5g limits to a single instance of changing zones), and that the change of zone will trigger abilities prior to the token ceasing to exist.
