Responding to Chord of Calling

Asked by Aorosco14 6 years ago

Here I am with yet another question about Elves :P Let's say I have a board of 3 Forest, 1 Elvish Mystic, and 1 Elvish Archdruid. I tap out to play Chord of Calling, tapping Archdruid to make X=2. With Chord, I grab an Eladamri, Lord of Leaves. So here's why I'm confused. I understand that my opponent can play Instants etc. in response, but if they let Chord resolve, can they play anything in response to Eladamri hitting the battlefield? Or does he go straight onto the board after Chord resolves?

Rhadamanthus says... Accepted answer #2

The last chance they have to make a response before Eladamri enters the battlefield is before Chord starts resolving, i.e. before they know for sure what you're going to get from your library. Once a spell starts resolving, no one gets priority to make a response until after it's completely finished.
