Question about Flamerush rider combo?
Asked by Caharin 10 years ago
Ok so the ability of Flamerush Rider is what my question is about. When he attacks you may put a token that's a copy of another target creature tapped and attacking. So if I have two Flamerush Rider's out can I target the other with its copy, then the copies are Flamerush Rider's therefore do they copy again to make an infinite copy loop for damage.
Ok i was just confused by the wording. It says when he attacks so I wondered since the copies are attacking would this work? Thank you for the response.

@Caharin: "Whenever ~ attacks" abilities trigger only when the creature is declared as an attacker. If the creature is put onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, it's an attacking creature, but it never attacked. "Whenever ~ attacks" abilities won't trigger for it.

So effects like Ghostly Prison wont apply either. I only have to to pay for Flamerush Rider and the other creature I am attacking with, but not for the copy, right?

That is correct. You only have to pay for creatures declared as attackers with Propaganda effects.

I think this should be in the Q&A section, ChiefBell to the rescue
No, it will not be infinite because you can only declare attackers once. So the two Riders target one another upon declaring of attackers and then that's it. You would end up attacking with 4 Riders.
Cant cite the rule right now, but hopefully someone else will.
