Does the Legendary rule apply when sacrificing Mirrorpool can you copy a Legendary creature card.

You can copy a Legendary Creature you control with Mirrorpool, however the Legend rule of course still applies. That rule is part of state-based actions, which don't care about how the creatures got put on the battlefield, just that they have the same name.

Some cards will allow you to play around that fact, most iconically Mirror Gallery or Sakashima the Impostor.

The legend rule will still apply. You can copy a legendary creature, but then the next time state-based actions are checked, if you control both the copy and the original then you will choose one to keep and put the rest in the graveyard.

There is actually a combo that takes advantage of the legend rule by copying Titania, Protector of Argoth in order to get use of both of her triggered abilities.
