Mindbreak trap

Asked by xo2 12 years ago

If my opponent casts a Mindbreak Trap on all my Grapeshot copies, can I Remand one copy to fizzle the Mindbreak Trap .

No. A spell or ability only fizzles if ALL of its targets are illegal. Even if you Remand one copy, Mindbreak Trap still has legal targets in all of the other instances and it will resolve normally.

Because then his opponent would cast it again?

If you have another red open, then remand lets you play grapeshot again.

Epochalyptik does that also apply to Arc Trail ?

mstancea that's what I'll have to do. And get another 3 damage off of it too :)

Arc Trail will resolve if there is at least one legal target, dealing 1 or 2 damage to that target depending on what choice was made.

Also, with the exception of players having hexproof Arc Trail will always have 2 legal targets when cast. Those being your opponent and yourself.

Yes. As long as a spell or ability has at least one legal target when it would resolve, it will resolve normally. A spell or ability only fizzles if every target it had is now illegal.
