Master biomancer + renegade krasis + Chasm skulker

Asked by Reilord 10 years ago

I'm new to mtg and started by using the simic combine deck. I'm trying to make this combo but I'm not sure if this'll work. On field is master biomancer with a +1/+1 counter. Renegade krasis. and Chasm skulker with 3 +1/+1 counters. I cast rapid hybridization on Chasm skulker. What I want it to happen is+ Chasm skulker dies, create tokens, token A enters with 3 +1+/1, evolves renegade krasis triggering ability, master biomancer becomes 4/6(with 2 +1/+1 counters), token A receives another +1/+1 Counter(from renegade krasis); Token B enters with 4+1/+1(from master biomancer), evolves renegade krasis,(basically the same process with token A until token C and the frog token from rapid hybridization). Will this scenario work?

PS. I don't know how to put floating images on card names. Sorry.

First off, welcome to Tapped Out! To link card images, you use double brackets. [-[-Forest-]-], without the dashes, becomes Forest .

Master Biomancer , Renegade Krasis , Chasm Skulker , Rapid Hybridization .

Here's a breakdown:

  1. Rapid Hybridization resolves. Chasm Skulker dies, you get a token that enters as a 6/6 from Master Biomancer .
  2. Two triggers happen: Chasm Skulker 's trigger on death, and Renegade Krasis 's evolve trigger from the 6/6. Since you control them both, you get to decide what order they happen in.
  3. We'll let Renegade Krasis 's trigger resolve first. He becomes a 4/3, his second ability triggers.
  4. That ability resolves. Master Biomancer gets another counter (putting him at 4/6), the token gets another counter (putting it at 7/7).
  5. The Chasm Skulker death trigger resolves. You get three Squid tokens that enter at the same time. They enter as 5/5 from Master Biomancer .
  6. Each of those trigger Renegade Krasis ' Evolve trigger.
  7. The first of these abilities resolve. Renegade Krasis becomes a 5/4, then the Biomancer becomes a 5/7, the Frog Lizard token becomes an 8/8, and each squid becomes a 6/6.
  8. The second Evolve trigger, because of the intervening-if clause in it, checks if the second token still has a bigger power or toughness than the Krasis. It does (because the Krasis made everything bigger), so Krasis evolves, and makes everything bigger.
  9. This happens one more time. Your end result is: a 7/9 Master Biomancer , a 7/6 Renegade Krasis , a 10/10 Frog Lizard Mutant token, and three 8/8 Squid Mutant tokens with islandwalk.
