Thornling does not have the Changeling ability that the Lorwyn Changelings (like Mothdust Changeling and Game-Trail Changeling ) had. Rather, it is a standard, run-of-the-mill Shapeshifter (like Aquamorph Entity , Primal Plasma , and every variant of Clone ). In this case, Thornling 's only two creature types are Elemental and Shapeshifter.
Also, for some fun trivia: Thornling is a callback to Morphling , which was very popular when it was introduced in Urza's Saga.

And check out Morphling for another shapeshifter that does not have the keyword Changeling (that keyword is what actually gives the creature every creature type, as per the reminder text in, say, Amoeboid Changeling .

Torchling is another creature that takes its roots from Morphling

Also, for the record, the only creature with an effective "Changeling" ability outside of Lorwyn/Morningtide is the Mistform Ultimus . Most shapeshifters are, sadly, only the creature types on their type line (or in their Oracle text in the case of older cards).

No. Unless a card specifically states something, that card doesn't have it.
Much like a "Creature - Bird" doesn't have flying.
