Is onto the same as enters?

If a card says "creature onto the battlefield", would that trigger an ability that says "when creature enters the battlefield"? Like Sage's Row Denizen and Call of the Nightwing .Also, would Immortal Servitude activate Sage's Row Denizen as well?

It should be noted that nothing activates Sage's Row Denizen . Sage's Row Denizen has a triggered ability; triggered abilities can only be triggered.

Putting a creature "put a creature onto the battlefield" or "returning creatures from a graveyard to the battlefield" or "putting a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield" all make creatures go from one zone and onto the battlefield.
This means that it enters the battlefield, and will trigger abilities that care about creatures entering the battlefield, such as Sage's Row Denizen .
Though you should note that a creature being put onto the battlefield isn't the same as casting (or on older cards; playing) the creature. A creature being put onto the battlefield by Immortal Servitude won't trigger Animar, Soul of Elements , for example.
