How on Earth do you cast Shatterskull Smashing Flip in Arena?

I have never been able to cast this card for more than X=5. If I try to do it for x=6, nothing happens. If x is 6, I should be able to assign 12 total.
How does this work?
If I have 8 lands, how much damage can you assign?
The way it should work is that when you put it on the stack, Arena will ask you what X will be and to confirm. Then it will ask you to select targets, and you'll pick one or two, and then confirm. Then you'll distribute damage. In this case, you'll have 12 points to assign. Each target must get at least 1 point, and all damage must be assigned (so 6 and 6, or 1 and 11, or whatever), and you will be allowed to confirm. If any part of that is not happening that way, it may be a bug.

If you have 8 regular lands (X=6), you should be able to assign 12 damage divided as you choose, as you said. I can't speak for how the card behaves on Arena.
