How does Narset's reversal work with exile resolves?

Asked by Peep_sqaudron 5 years ago

If I use Narset's Reversal how does it interact with Merfolk Secretkeeper 's Venture Deeper, would Narset's Reversal go to graveyard, or on an adventure?

Narset's Reversal would copy Merfolk Secretkeeper as the Adventure is first on the stack.. Merfolk Secretkeeper since it is still a "sorcery" in adventure mode will go to your hand after the first cast targets and fizzles then Narset's Reversal goes to the graveyard now it has been used and fizzles~

Maybve I said that wrong lol

what I am trying to say is that it will only target the sorcery, choose new targets.. you are only copying the sorcery because it will not be Adventure until another turn later.

Narset's Reversal will go to the graveyard.

Narset's Reversal doesn't become a copy of the targeted spell, it just makes a copy of it.

Is that the question you were asking?

The copy created by Narset's Reversal would try to go on an adventure, but since it’s just a copy, it would cease to exist once it leaves the stack.

I'm assuming that you've sent Merfolk Secretkeeper on an adventure, so that "Venture Deeper" is on the stack when you use Narset's Reversal .

Narset's Reversal creates a copy of "Venture Deeper" on the stack, then returns the Merfolk Secretkeeper to your hand. Narset's Reversal goes to the graveyard once the copy is made, since it doesn't become a copy. You now have Reversal in your graveyard, Secretkeeper in your hand, and a copy of "Venture Deeper" on the stack.

Once the copy of "Venture Deeper" resolves, the copy is exiled and ceases to exist, meaning there's nothing you can later cast as a creature. You now have Narset's Reversal in your graveyard, Merfolk Secretkeeper in your hand, and no copy of "Venture Deeper" anywhere.
