How does Chalice of the Void work with Cascade

Someone said something the other day that I didn’t think was correct so I just want to double check.

If a Chalice of the Void is on the battlefield with 0 charge counters, and I cast Shardless Agent hitting Lightning Bolt from the cascade trigger, the bolt won’t be countered from the chalice, correct? It’s my understanding that alternative costs don’t affect the mana value of a spell on the stack.

A Chalice on 0 will not counter Bolt. Even though you spent no mana, the converted mana cost is still 1.

Relevant ruling on Chalice: "If there are zero charge counters on Chalice of the Void, it counters each spell with a mana value of 0. This includes face-down creature spells cast with morph’s alternative cost. (2021-03-19)"
