Hazezon Tamar Question

Asked by MaltOMeal 5 years ago

I've got a question about Hazezon Tamar ... if I had 9 lands in play and I were to play him in my main phase, and then play a Farseek , would I create 9 or 10 Sand Warrior tokens on the next turn?

Appreciate the help!

Hazezon Tamar is a delayed ETB ability that triggers on your upkeep, so the game will check how many lands you have then

Well I'm not cdkime, but I'm guessing he'll be here soon to tell you that this is better suited to be asked in the rules Q&A part of the site.

But my best guess is that since it's a delayed triggered ability - you don't even have to keep Hazezon around to get the sand warriors - it will always be the amount of lands you had when Hazezon entered the battlefield. He enters when you have 7 lands, and you cast Boundless Realms up to 14- you still only get the 7.

No it says on his rulings that hazezon counts how many lands you have when his delayed trigger goes off. Boundless realms after a Hazezon Tamar would get you twice the number you had before boundless realms or farseek in this scenario

It is the amount of lands you control on your next upkeep. There is no need to even look at rulings, the last phrase of his ability is "where X is the number of lands you control at that time." So X is the number of lands you control when the tokens are created.
