Gideon+Venser

Can I use Gideon Jura 's +2 effect then bounce him with Venser, the Sojourner 's +2 to force my opponent to attack Gideon on his turn?

No. When you activate Gideon Jura 's +2, the targeted opponent must attack him with all available attackers on his or her next turn. However, when you activate Venser, the Sojourner 's +2 targeting Gideon, Gideon will be exiled and then come back in at the end of your turn. He will enter the battlefield as an entirely new permanent, with the initial 6 loyalty counters and no abilities tied to him. When the originally targeted opponent enters his or her combat step, since the Gideon that was the source of the ability targeting him/her is no longer in play (it got exiled, and a "new" Gideon came back), they will not have to attack him.

I also cannot think of a situation in which you would want to blink a walker unless it was to reset their counters to full, as in using his -2 and then bringing him back to 6.

I don't see how it would be to your advantage to blink a walker you just put more counters on. I could see blinking him if you used his -2, because then you essentially got a free Assassinate . Or you could do it if you later decide you don't want them to attack Gideon.

It would be to my advantage because my opponent would have to get past my Day of Judgment s AND get in with 8 damage to Gideon.

you could still use vesners +2 after if jura still lives and reset his counters for the next turn

day of judgment is a sorcery you would have to play it before or after he attacked not in responce there wouldnt realy be any point to using his +2 ability if you just going to nuke all the creature anyways, if you going to do that use his 0 ability and attack when he has no blockers insted

They would have to swing at Gideon if you don't blink him. Even if you do blink him, and they theoretically still had to attack him, all you've accomplished that wouldn't have happened anyway is Venser getting another two counters.

@ xxxxxxCronoxxxxxx: You have to play Day of Judgment on your turn.

What are you talking about xxxxxxCronoxxxxxx? Use Gideon's +2, cast Day of Judgment , next turn, opponent has no creatures, can't attack... Do you not understand?

@ Epochalyptik that was what i was saying

@ Silaspilas its better to do 6 damage than to make him attack with creatures that are not going to be there anyways, no point in using his -2 if he doesnt have creatures to target
