Getting multiple cards back

Asked by Bobby654 5 years ago

Before I get into detail yes I looked at the rulings of the effect but it didn't answer my question. I have Golgari Grave-Troll and Stinkweed Imp chilling in my graveyard and I'm about to start my turn. Can I get both back at once if I have enough cards in my library or do I have to do things one at a time.

Dredge is a replacement effect, it replaces you drawing a card with a different event.

616.1. If two or more replacement and/or prevention effects are attempting to modify the way an event affects an object or player, the affected object’s controller (or its owner if it has no controller) or the affected player chooses one to apply

With multiple instances of Dredge in your graveyard, when you go to draw a card, the above rule will become relevant, and you will choose which Dredge effect will replace your draw. Once one of them does, you are no longer drawing a card, and the other doesn't have an event to replace.

In short, no, not unless you have something causing you to draw two cards instead of one, such as a Howling Mine .
