Flipped Cards with Devotion

Asked by Trockenmatt 9 years ago

So, let's say I have Nissa, Sage Animist  Flip on the field flipped, and I want to tap Karametra's Acolyte. Would the 1 devotion from the other side move over? In simpler terms, would I get 2 mana or 1 mana?

Transforming gives a card a whole new set of characteristics, and it only has the characteristics of whichever face is currently showing. Nissa, Sage Animist  Flip doesn't have a mana cost, and won't count towards Devotion. You get 1 mana in your example.

This is just a nitpick, but these kinds of cards are called "double-faced cards." DFCs transform. "Flip cards" are cards like Nezumi Graverobber.

Rhadamanthus, thank you very much for the answer.

Epochalyptik, feel free to nitpick, I will use "double-faced cards" from now on.
