Fling and Triumph of the Hordes

Asked by fitzjmm 13 years ago

I'm still pretty new to MTG. I'm wondering if I use Triumph of the Hordes MTG Card: Triumph of the Hordes and then use FlingMTG Card: Fling, does the fling toss the poison encounters as well?

No.

FlingMTG Card: Fling is the source of the damage. Therefore, it doesn't matter if the sacrificed creature had lifelink, deathtouch, infect, etc.

If you used an effect like Soul's FireMTG Card: Soul's Fire (which causes the creature to be the source of the damage), then the damage dealt will have the properties of the creature.

No. Damage done by a creature with infect deals damage in the form of poison counters, but the source of damage here is fling. The creature you choose to fling will be +1/+1 however and so fling will take that into account when it deals damage, but infect plays no part here.

no - FlingMTG Card: Fling deals the damage, not the creature itself, and so it will deal regular damage and not infect damage

however, if you use Prey UponMTG Card: Prey Upon, you do get the infect effect. of course, prey upon only works on creatures.
