Equipment/Enchantment max.

Asked by Galdor 11 years ago

Hey, call me stupid but I was wondering if there is a maximum amount of enchantments/equipment that can be attached to a single creature. A friend of mine has a deck where he equips an Arbor elf with a kite sail, a lightning greaves, an alpha status, and a blanchwood armor at one time. Is this allowed?

Well, there is no maximum. BUT if he equips Lightning Greaves to his Arbor Elf it gains shroud and thus can't be targeted by the equip abilities from his equipment nor his enchantments anymore. Or anything else for that matter.

Keep in mind, that is only the case as long Lightning Greaves is equipped to that creature.

So if he plans on attaching everything to his Arbor Elf, he should use Swiftfoot Boots .

And more to the point, giving it shroud doesn't cause anything already on there to be -removed-

He can unequip the boots, enchant it with something else, and then put the boots back on again.

He can only "unequip" (not really a thing) if he has another target creature to equip. He can't simply remove the equipment for no reason.

Nope no maximum, but be careful of equipping or enchanting a creature to give it shroud, as this prevents further enchantments and equipment's being attached.

To sum it up:

There is no maximum amount of equipments or enchantments that can be on one creature.

The ability shroud (given to a creature by Lightning Greaves in your example) prevents that creature from being targeted. Equipments and auras DO target a creature, but only as they are being equipped or enchanted. This means that he can't equip Lightning Greaves to a creature and then enchant it with Blanchwood Armor or equip it to Kitesail while that creature is still equipped to the greaves, because that creature can't be targeted. However, if he enchants the creature and equips the creature with everything he wants and saves the Lightning Greaves for last, he can do that without any problems.

So as soon as he puts Lightning Greaves on that Arbor Elf , you know he can't put anything else on it unless he equips the greaves to something else first.
