Eidolon of the Great Revel and Rift Bolt

If I suspend a Rift Bolt with a Eidolon of the Great Revel on the field, when it resolves on my next upkeep will eidolon do damage to me? I'm a little iffy on this particular ruling and the technicalities of "casting", and I'm new to the whole burn deck...Thank you in advance!

Actually, I was looking for the same answer, but I actually read the card. It says, "PLAY it without paying its mana cost." I'm new to these interactions, so are you saying that play is equivalent to cast?

"Play" was changed to "Cast" a couple years ago.
The Oracle text for Rift Bolt says "Cast"
Rift Bolt deals 3 damage to target creature or player.Suspend 1Red (Rather than cast this card from your hand, you may pay Red and exile it with a time counter on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost.)
See also the version they printed in Modern Masters which also says 'Cast' in place of 'Play'

601.1. Previously, the action of casting a spell, or casting a card as a spell, was referred to on cards as "playing" that spell or that card. Cards that were printed with that text have received errata in the Oracle card reference so they now refer to "casting" that spell or that card.
601.1a Some effects still refer to "playing" a card. "Playing a card" means playing that card as a land or casting that card as a spell, whichever is appropriate.

Runeflare Trap Won't trigger eidolon neither will Stoke the Flames because of CMC on the card. Look for things like that to cheat in burn around that guy. In case you were also asking that because you are trying to build around him.

The reminder text on Suspend says "'cast it without paying its mana cost"
You are casting it, therefore the Eidolon will trigger and you'll take damage.
