Dosn't Wall of Roots and Melira, Sylvok Outcast not work?

So, I finally built Melira pod (so happy) and realized something during playtesting. Wall of Roots says put a -0/-1 counter on Wall of Roots . Melira, Sylvok Outcast says -1/-1 counters can't be placed on creatures you control.

So here's the question... pro's use Wall of Roots and Melira, Sylvok Outcast as a great mana set up. I'm pretty sure those two cards don't work together because of what I stated above. So.. are -0/-1 counters the same as -1/-1 counters in this situation?

No, Melira, Sylvok Outcast doesn't prevent the -0/-1 counters from being placed on Wall of Roots

Wall of Roots place in the deck has nothing to do with any synergy with Melira, rather, It's there because it works well with Birthing Pod and Chord of Calling
