Does Dominus of Fealty UnEquip?
Asked by shadowdart 12 years ago
If my Dominus of Fealty takes an equipment attached to a creature does it un-equip? Similarly, when the equipment returns to my opponents control, if it is equipped to one of my creatures, does it it un-equip?

No. Gaining control of an equipment or Aura doesn't unattach it. It will remain sttached and under your control.

Just to clear things up, Dominus of Fealty takes lets say Whispersilk Cloak but it is still attached to a Grizzly Bears until I equip it to Dominus. Then at the end of the turn, it returns to my opponent's control but remains equipped to Dominus. Correct?

@shadowdart: Correct. An equipment or aura card will remain attached to the permanent is is currently attached to unless the control change makes that permanent an illegal object for that equipment/aura to equip/enchant (for example, if you gain control of an opponent's aura and that aura says "enchant creature you control," it would then be enchanting an illegal object and be put into its owner's graveyard).
You can equip the Whispersilk Cloak to something else while you have control. When control is returned to your opponent, the Whispersilk Cloak will remain attached to whatever you put it on until your opponent equips it to something else.

what's really messed up is lets say you take control of an opponent's Baneslayer Angel that's equipped with an Argentum Armor and you attack with the angel, the equipment's trigger will still be your opponent's and they get to destroy an equipment (it also gets really interesting if you use the swords of X and Y as the example)
