Copy an Epic spell

Asked by -MisterJ- 11 years ago

Question is simple and I think I already know the answer.

If I cast Eternal Dominion (or any Epic card for that matter) and copy it with any ability, but for this example lets say Riku of Two Reflections ...

The copy (made by Riku) is not a cast so that shouldn't stop either one from resolving and from there out every time I should have two Eternal Dominion triggering correct?

And finally, lets say Riku is enchanted with Dual Casting . My next upkeep arrives and I (supposedly) have two Dominions about to resolve and I should be able to copy them, again because its not casting etc... But the copy will not be put into play with the Epic stamp is this correct?

This works how you are thinking. Epic stops you from playing spells, not from having spells on the stack resolve.

If you cast Eternal Dominion and then Fork it, you get two Dominions, and both will continue to be epic and happen every turn.

Also as you thought, since the copy that is created by Epic each turn no longer has Epic, copying one on the stack will give you a third one, but the third one won't be epic.

Nitpick: The copy will not be put into play. Spells are not "put into play" that's an old term for "put onto the battlefield." They are put onto the stack. In the case of copies; they are created on the stack.
