Lier, Disciple of the Drowned and Flashback

Asked by bunbboi 3 years ago

So I cast a spell from my graveyard using Lier's flashback ability and at instant speed an opponent destroys or removes them from the game, does the flashbacked spell resolve? If not does it return to my graveyard or get exiled?

Your opponent can perform actions before or after the card from your graveyard has moved to the stack. If you announce that you're casting a Brainstorm from your graveyard, your opponent can't destroy Lier in response before you get a chance to do so.

If the spell cast from the graveyard is on the stack, it'll continue to resolve even if Lier is removed. It won't go away just because the source of the ability to cast that spell has been removed; it's already been cast.
