Can you trample over with Pit Fight and bloodrush in combat?
Asked by CJ_95 11 years ago
I was wondering if trample would count if you use Pit Fight ? Example: I have an Armada Wurm on the battlefield, and my opponent has a Frontline Medic . Question 1: If I use Pit Fight with my Wurm against his Medic, because of trample, will 2 damage carry over and hit my opponent, or does that only count during combat? Question 2: Can I declare an attack with Armada Wurm , and in response bloodrush with a Ghor-Clan Rampager making my Wurm a 9/9 trampler, and then use Pit Fight against his Frontline Medic , carrying over 6 damage to my opponent? Is this all able to happen?
so in case 1, it would fight, then deal 5 damage. in case 2, it would fight then deal 9 damage.

In case 2, you can Bloodrush Ghor-Clan Rampager onto your Armada Wurm , let that ability resolve, and then cast Pit Fight . Doing this during the 'Declare Attackers' step will mean that Frontline Medic won't be there to block; if it was your opponent's only creature, your Armada Wurm will now do 9 damage to your opponent in combat for lack of blockers.

Thank you all so much. I was just wondering. So thank you for clearing that up for me.

None of that is able to happen, except that you can bloodrush your wurm in response to declaring it as an attacker.
Fight has nothing to do with combat. All Fight does is say "Creature A deals damage equal to its power to Creature B, and Creature B deals damage equal to its power to Creature A"
Abilities such as trample do not function during fights.
