Can I use Havengul Lich's ability on opponent's turns?

Asked by kfcl 12 years ago

I know I can activate it on my opponent's turns, what I want to know is if it's any use. Does the ability allow me to cast a creature from a graveyard on my opponent's turns, or do I have to follow normal casting rules and cast it on my own turn only? (Thereby meaning that the ability is only useful when activated on my turn)

You have to follow normal casting rules. You can activate it on your opponent's turn and cast creatures with Flash, but that's about all.

card:Yeva, Nature's Herald would allow you to cast green creatures in your graveyard anytime

hmm...now that I make the connection a B/U/G Heartless Summoning deck is looking better and better. Turn 3 Acidic Slime that can be recast from graveyard...

Assuming you have no other creatures on the field, no you cannot. since the card text says you may "cast" the creature, you have to follow normal casting rules. If it said "you may put target creature card onto the battlefield" then you could. that 1 word makes the difference.

As harry said though anything that lets you cast normal creatures at times you normally couldnt like card:Yeva, Nature's Herald would allow you to flash in the green ones.
