Are Eldrazi Drone creatures considered Eldrazi?

Asked by MakoLifeStream 12 years ago

The reason i ask is because of cards like Nest Invader which has eldrazi in its subtype, but has it right next to drone. really i want to use Eye of Ugin and Eldrazi Temple effects on it, but im not sure if it is legal to do so. Anyone?

It counts as both an Eldrazi and a Drone, so yes to your question. However, lest I am mistaken by what you're trying to do in some grave way, Eye of Ugin and Eldrazi Temple affect colorless spells, whereas Nest Invader is green. In this case, it wouldn't work. You need to find colorless Eldrazi. But when you do, it's okay if they have creature types in addition to Eldrazi.

Yes you can do what you'd like.

Creatures and Creature tokens with multiple subtypes are considered both subtypes. So Nest Invader is considered both an "Eldrazi" and a "Drone".

Urto is correct. Although many Eldrazi are colorless, a creature is not colorless just for being an Eldrazi. No creature type in the game confers inherent qualities to objects of that type. Color is determined by the mana cost and any color indicators on a card.

@demonx666 and GreatSword: Read Eye of Ugin and Eldrazi Temple more carefully. They only affect colorless Eldrazi cards and spells. Nest Invader is green, so it doesn't benefit from either card.
