Afterlife
Asked by Asyriel 5 years ago
I'm using Teysa Karlov in a deck with Seraph of the Scales and Phyrexian Altar . From rules I've read about, sacrificing a creature voids teysa's ability. Is afterlife voided if the creature is sacrificed as well? Also i don't see how dying doesn't include sacrifice.

Sacrificing does not void Teysa Karlov 's ability--so long as a creature dies and results in an on-death trigger, Teysa will cause that ability to trigger an additional time.
So, in this case, you sacrifice Seraph and get two Afterlife triggers, creating a total of four fliers.
Note: You do not get two Phyrexian Altar triggers; yes, something dying is used to pay the cost, but it is not a triggered ability caused by a creature dying (nor is it a triggered ability to begin with).
