activation cost "sacrifice a creature"

when i use Spawning Pit on my Kokusho, the Evening Star can my friend cast Swords to Plowshares to exile him?
if he will be exiled, does it change if i use card:Ashnod's Altar / Phyrexian Tower because it is a mana ability?
Your friend can't react on such actions because sacrifice of creature is required to active those abilities. What happens is: you sacrifice a creature (possibly pay some mana cost) and then ability goes on the stack - at that point your friend can react but your Kokusho, the Evening Star is allready in graveyard, hence untargetable with Swords to Plowshares .

Since sacrificing the creature is part of activating spawning pits ability, no, he can not. When you activate that ability by sacrificing your kokusho, by the time your opponent gets priority to even think about casting swords to plowshares, the ability is already on the stack, and kokusho in the bin.
