Is it just me, or is Kernos EXTREMELY powerful after rotation? I apologize if I can't make the card appear out of a link, I forget how. I haven't been on in a few months.

We still don't know how powerful he may be because we still have yet to see all of M15 and Khans so trying to predict what will be good is difficult. As a card he does good things, he just needs the right supporting cast

Ah, I see. Thanks. Been interested in building a deck around him, as he looks like he could be a win-con if played correctly.

He can be, but I feel he only becomes a win con when he becomes a creature. Other than that, he is a utility card. He gains you advantage and yeps dig for a win con as well as being a potential gain of advantage for on board scenarios, possibly removing creatures. The question becomes, is he the best 5 drop option for your specific build?

He definitely has potential but nothing is certain until we see what he is up against. I mean i love him in my scry deck. He can help you draw more and burn. If only he was 4 instead of 5 cmc.....

This guy built the perfect deck for Keranos, God of Storms and he's almost never a creature:

I took his build and tweaked it a little, notably changing the sideboard and using some different counters, and this deck has been a blast the few times i've played it. It's much more of a lockdown deck than the usual control builds, and Keranos, God of Storms is an all-star player. Combine his damage/draw with 2 Dictate of Kruphix and you can effectively shut your opponent down completely without ever turning your God on.

That being said, I think he has great potential in some sort of control shell or possibly some sort of Izzet burn/draw build if M15 & Khans gives us the cards for it.

And post rotation we could have something like this: The future of Izzet (well it rug now, but it was izzet, might change it back.)

I use him in my deck Controlling izzet and when I get him out I pretty much win the game and If there are good red blue cards in khans I will continue playing him

Semi on-subject, what's the consensus on Stormchaser Chimera ? I like the card, but that dump is a bit big on intake. Is it meant for a RUG shell, or something?

More off-topic, how about Spellheart Chimera and Horizon Chimera ?
