So what does eveyone think about this design space? To me it feels like War of the spark planswalkers that only had Minus abilities... Im assuming there will be other ways to interact with this cars type for colors or decks that dont typically have many creatures... kinda like Heoric or somting where you just target it with "any target" spells or something.

Once again, I don’t think it make it unintuitive. It was unintuitive before because why can I target literally every other permanent directly, but not Planeswalkers?

Before this rule change any cards like Hero's Downfall would have been impossible to print. Because you can’t target the Planeswalker, and the opponent isn’t a legal target.

Also, to your point about this making planeswalkers and battles feel different….. that’s literally my entire point for this idea…. Lol

So if an opponent is protecting someone else's battle and has no planeswalkers, I guess you're forced to give the battle-owner value

Why, exactly did WotC choose to introduce a new card type, now, thirty years into the game? What need was not being fulfilled that battles now fulfill?

DemonDragonJ you already asked this exact question as its own forum post here, and got numerous well-thought-out and perfectly valid answers.

I’m not sure why you’re choosing to both ignore that thread, and hijack this one?

wallisface, I asked that question, in this thread, because the thread that I had started had been inactive for some time, but I did ask it, in that thread, as well.
