While visiting the official website today, I saw the detailed art of Archangel of Tithes. I didn't recognize it earlier because of the size of the art in card form, that her headgear / head accessory somehow resembles of Liliana Vess'. I am not a huge follower of MTG lore, but if it's not too much can someone direct me to an answer / article about why is this so? Thank you.

Hmmm... So its that Archangel on the Unholy Hunger's art background? Its really easy to miss art details on the size of the art. Thanks for the answer.

Also of note: Boggart Brute, Gather the Pack, and Eyeblight Massacre

@MaelstromHobo those are from Nissa's origin story. After she planeswalks for the first time to lorwyn she joins the elves there on a hunt for eyeblights thinking they are the evil she had seen. The card Eyeblight Massacre shows the elf, Galed, slaughtering goblins. this is when Nissa realized the eyblights weren't what she thought they were and tried to stop them. If you go to the Nissa's origin story in Uncharted Realms you'll see the same image there that's on the card except Nissa is in the background.
FYI: This isn't the full story just a quick explanation to show the cards relationship to the story.

Wow, good spot. Lily definitely seems to have killed that archangel for its lid. Maybe she did so on the orders of her demonic masters?

@abenz419: I'm well aware. I was simply pointing out that those three cards are all connected by their art, much like the previously discussed Archangel of Tithes and Unholy Hunger. I hope Wizards keeps adding easter eggs like this, it gives the set more depth!

Boggart Brute is on Gather the Pack. Cool art reference.

Just a little reference, I guess Lili killed Tithes and took it as a prize.
