Parallax wave and 'the stack' HELP!

So I bought a couple Parallax Wave cards and I'm just learning about the stack, and the order of operations. I want to use Aura Shards to activate it's loophole ability and exile 5 creatures permanently.

Does this combo work? If not, what other options are there? thanks!

A. This sort of question belongs in the "MTG Q&A" section of the site. Just for future reference.

B. Also, for future reference, you can link cards on this site by putting them in double brackets. [ [ Parallax Wave ] ], with the spaces removed, becomes Parallax Wave . [ [ Aura Shards ] ] becomes Aura Shards .

I'm not seeing an interaction that will leave 5 creatures exiled permanently, but I don't know too much about Parallax Wave. Epochalyptik?

Moved to General because I can't move it to the Q&A.

You would need to activate Parallax Wave 's ability five times, then trigger Aura Shards 's ability such that Parallax Wave is destroyed before any of the instances of its ability resolve. Parallax Wave 's LTB ability will trigger and do nothing because no creatures are yet exiled with Parallax Wave . Then, the instances of Parallax Wave 's activated ability will resolve and exile up to five creatures. Those creatures can't be returned to play because the linked triggered ability that would return them has already resolved and Parallax Wave has left play.

You may find it difficult to trigger Aura Shards 's ability at instant speed. You'd need an instant or activated ability that puts a creature onto the battlefield. Alternatively, you could use a creature with flash.

You could use Boomerang or a similar effect by adding some blue.

Oh lovely! I happen to have 4x Ambush Viper and 3x Wolfir Avenger in my deck. It'll make for interesting combos. Thanks lots!
