So I have this idea to run Nightveil Specter with Realmwright . The cards I exile can be mana fixed to play anything

You also get to play any of their lands that you exile. AND you can use Chromatic Lantern to mana fix too.

A cute idea would be to use Havengul Lich as well. Play cards in exile AND in the graveyard.

Nightveil Specter works much better with Chromatic Lantern . It is a lot easier to kill a 1/1 creature than it is to blow up an artifact these days. Oh and fyi, this is not a "combo", it is simply some cool synergy. A combo refers tto an interaction between 2 or more cards that allows you to "go infinite" or hard lock your opponent out of the game.

Another cute idea is to play Evil Twin along with Havengul Lich and Nightveil Specter. Might as well add Fiend of the Shadows

Now you can play stuff in their graveyard, library hand AND battlefield!

Now if only you can minimize the opponent's hand early enough so they can't resist it... I feel like this is gonna be the pinnacle of U/B control, discard their hand early so they ending up having to top-deck, then just play the hell out of their library.

I never saw anything about the effect stoping when Realmwright leaves the field...

Anyways, yes, its awesome, chromatic lantern helps too.

swwet-nightmare, i thought the same thing. usually the cards say "as long as "enter name here" remains on the battlefield, "enter effect here". I assume that I can produce whatever I name for the remainder of the game.I apologize for misnaming this a "combo", I have been out of MtG for almost 10 year and RtR was the first set out since I got back in. I;m not down with all the lingo yet.So, overall evaluation? do we like this synergy or is it not that viable in competitive standrad decks?

In competitive standard? No. In casual, fnm standard? Sure. Realmwright acts similar to Blood Moon in the sense that lands are the specified type only while it is on the field. Likke I said earlier, there is to much removal for a 1/1 with no protection right now. If you want you can look here for a nightveil specter deck that has already won a fnm 5 Color Specter

@capriom85 and Sweet-Nightmare

Static abilities like Realmwright's second ability only function while the card is in the appropriate zone. Here that zone is the battlefield. If Reamwright leaves the field it will stop adding a land type to your lands.
