If I cast and target a creature with Disfigure and my opponent casts Safe Passage , would the creature be killed?

yep because Disfigure changes the p/t of a creature it does not deal damage since Safe Passage prevents damage the creature would still be put into the grave yard as a state based action for have a 0 toughness

Yes the creature is still destroyed. Cards that deal damage specifically say deals x damage in their effects. When a card says target creature recieves -x/-x, it is a temporary effect that lasts until end of turn, not damage so cards such as Safe Passage will not stop it's effect.

KrimsonNekros, you're correct in all areas but one: it's not destroyed; it's put into the graveyard as a state-based effect for having a toughness of 0 or less.
This is an important distinction because abilities like indestructible stop destruction, but not toughness-draining effects like Disfigure or -1/-1 counters.
A Darksteel Myr will survive a Pyroclasm or Wrath of God , but it won't survive an Instill Infection or Scar .
You're right the rest of the way, though. Safe Passage doesn't stop Disfigure , and it does end up in the grave next time SBAs are checked.
Also, Select, that's not a helpful comment, since nowhere on the card does it specifically say "this isn't damage". seevers35 clearly needed some explanation about the difference between damage and -X/-X or else he wouldn't have asked.

And actually, he agrees with all of you. He was looking for support for an argument he was having with me. Thanks for your input.
