Ok I've been meaning to ask this for a while and keep forgetting. So what the heck does caw mean? As in the deck names caw-go, caw blade etc

Ohh I see so caw-go is like saying "birds, go!" Or does go refer to taking a turn?

A side question: what is the significance of JTM and squadron hawks?

Also, how does a Jace 1.0 beat a Jace 2.0?

Caw-Go" is a reference to a deck archetype called "Draw-Go," a control deck that played mainly on the opponent's turn with counterspells and instant-speed draw spells. Usually, a Draw-Go player would draw a card and promptly tell the other player to play - hence, Draw-Go.

When this deck appeared in Standard recently with Squadron Hawks as the main creatures, it got dubbed "Caw-Go" as a reference.

A little bit later, the deck modified itself a little bit and began including Sword of Body and Mind s and Sword of Feast and Famine s. It got renamed "Caw-Blade" to reflect the fact that it had swords now.

And Jace Beleren beats Jace, the Mind Sculptor through the planeswalker rule - if a PW is put out on the field who has the same type line as another PW already on the field, they're both sent to the graveyard immediately. It's similar to the legend rule for normal cards.

So if your opponent plays a Mind Sculptor, you can get rid of it for three mana by playing your Beleren.

Jace Beleren really should have another line of text on the card that states "Destroy target jace, the mind sculptor"

six: Why thank you sir. -Bows-

Legendinc: It's a hidden ability.

"-X: Destroy target Jace, the Mind Sculptor. X is the number of loyalty counter on Jace Beleren."

It also stops them from playing their JTMS if you have your little jace on the field first. (he has 1 less CMC) Unless that is, they want to lose their $100 card for your $10 card.
