Good trade?

I opened a Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and my lgs said I could trade for the event deck on Friday. Would you do it?

Sell it or trade for comparable value. An event deck isn't optimal.

Actually yeah, you're not even getting $24.99 value out of an event deck. You're getting 1 Hangarback Walker and a bunch of unplayable cards. So really you're trading a $35 card for a $15 card.

I agree with the above points, but you're trading Hangarback Walker ($16) and Tasigur, the Golden Fang ($7) for your Gideon. So the above point stands, but it's not as bad. Just sell Gideon on TCG Player and buy the event deck later if you want it.

Probably not the best, but if you need most of the cards, I suppose it could make sense...

Or just trade the Gideon for a Hangarback and a Tasigur and $15 other value at the same time.

Yeah that's really not a great deal. Generally, trading cards in to your LGS will not get you great value. You'd have better luck trading it to another player or selling it online.

Trading in a card to a lgs usually ends with you having 50% of the value in store credit. So about $18.00
Event pack is more, so it depends on how new to mtg are you? Are you just starting out and only have a casual deck with some other cards, or have you been playing for a while and have a decent inventory of cards?
