Hi Everyone,

I recently started playing MTG (3 weeks ago) and I absolutely love it. I have participated in 2 events so far 1 FNM (Win2,Lose2) and KTK Pre-Release (Win1, Lose3)

The problem is that I have no clue how to build a decent deck. I have played with only one deck (Born Of The Gods: Underwordl Herald) this is my first and Only Deck so far. But approx 35% of the cards will rotate out this Friday, so i can't play another FNM with this deck. :( I am willing to start building my own MTG Deck. But it's so daunting at the start. :( All the cards, so many cards. Which are good? Which are bad? My brain does not know the answer to this question yet. :D as you can see above, I got absolutely destroyed @ KTK Pre-Release event. I didn't have any strategy on how to build a deck. I just cracked those boosters open and built something. Probably the worst deck of the event. (It was fun though) :D

So now I have gathered all the valid cards that I have so far and have built that thing below. (Absolutely no Idea what I'm doing)

First B/U

I have checked other decks and compared to mine, this is what I think. : too many different creatures. It seems like other decks normally have 4-5 creatures and 3-4 copies of each creature in the deck. Where mine deck has a load of different dudes. Too many 1drops and 2 drops. Too little spells.

So I'm here to ask for your guidance, oh the mighty Plainswalkers. Please point me in the right direction. There is so much material online that I have no idea where to start.

Please give me some tips about my deck. Maybe I should remove something (Definitely) what to add to the deck. What to look in the cards? Correct ratios?

Colors that I like: Red/Black/Blue

I tried to build the above deck as Mid-game/Aggro.

Thank you for your time reading all of this and please, please share your knowledge with me.

May you draw well Plainswalker.

Regards,No0bWalker-Kris

The best thing for you to do is ask a friend who plays MTG to help, who would love to pass on his/her knowledge of the game. Outside of that, there are lots of articles online about making good decks.

Magic is insanely complex, and it's pretty difficult to just give over everything a person knows. For the purposes of this website, it may be best to post a deck in the 'deck help' forum, and ask for critique. This helps us by narrowing down what information we need to give you.

For example: What is your preferred format? (I am assuming Standard atm) It will mean the difference between the suggestion of cards like Snapcaster Mage (modern staple) and the suggestion on of cards like Hero's Downfall (standard staple). Showing us your deck will also allow us to gauge a price-range for you. For example, if your deck costs 100 dollars total, we would know that suggesting a set of Tarmogoyf pr Dark Confidant is not practical (in terms of pricing).

In short: Showing us your deck can really narrow down the information we need to give you, and let us give you the information you -need.- I agree with NTPYTO tho, if you have a friend that can give you a good knowledge base, that would be the best place to start.
