FNM Progress 11/19: 1st Place —Nov. 19, 2016
The deck has reached its goal of getting 1st place. Most of the opponents this time were control decks and the deck was able to be either too fast for them or was able to throw of their tempo. Deck still feel like some things could be made better, but its a matter of figuring out what kind pacing I want it to have at this point. Here are the match results:
Match 1: R/G Energy: 2/0
This match up went really fast as we are both aggressive decks. Game 1 was a victory because drawing 2 Thalia's and 1 Garrison in opening hand was too much for their hand to keep up with. Game 2 was my win after my opponent gambled on a hand that had no green mana and never drew it (might have lost the round if he got it).
Match 2: W/U Spirit control: 2/1
Game 1 I was able to go first and started with some fast cards that allowed me outpace his spirits. Game 2 was a loss because he drew lots of control that kept me pinned and did not draw many early cards. Game 3 was a win after a lot of back and forth, by far the most interesting match. Ending board state was a win because I got Odric out while Lone rider was flipped with 2 Mirrorwing dragons (sided them in). The game was stalled out by my opponent rather well, but he lacked a good answer for the Mirrorwing Dragon and it allowed me to stop his attacks till I drew my second Odric (first one was stasissed) and went for game.
Match 3: Jeskai Spirits 2/0
This deck is a really nice spirit control deck that mixes burn with counters. I have sadly figured out my opponent after playing him a few times in the past and can get a good read on what he is going to do and plan spell order accordingly. First round I was lucky and got first putting me ahead of him even though he did respond with burn for my first two cards but did not have any for my garrison that ended out snowballing out of control in the end. Game 2 Side board wins it for me because of tears of valakut killing a queller that gave me back thalia's after having garrison on board, there was more to this match but that was the point where things snowballed.
For those wondering why I still have Mirrorwing Dragon in the sidedeck, it is because the card proves useful as a creature that can't be controlled easily and can punish my opponent for using kill spells to remove it from field. It is true I am not running many pump spells to take advantage of its ability to spread pump, but I find its body for cost is still worth it. The most important part of it is against spirit decks is that it costs 5 mana, so it can't be countered by Spell Quellers. Next is that most the control spells the remove him from board will leave my enemy vulnerable. Lastly he is still a 4/5 flying creature (keyword for Odric) making him large enough my opponent can't handle him with most fliers by themselves. He isn't main deck because I cut down the spell pump making him less impactful in most matches.
During this play I was testing Fleetwheel Cruiser and determined I have no clue if its useful because I only drew it once with 2 copies in deck and match ended in loss because I drew such a slow hand that I lost to my opponent because I was unable to put anything aggressive against them. I think the card still has potential and will try it more, but might be cut since deck favors lower cost cards in its slot since I have a fair number of higher cards for an aggro deck.
If you have any questions as feel free to ask and I will respond as soon as I can. All comments and suggestions are still welcomed to feel free to let me know what you think.
Lordeh I like the suggestion as I do like the card as well. My problem with the card is that I am not sure what to take out to try this suggestion. I guess I could drop a Thalia's Lieutenant and Rush of Adrenaline to get two copies in deck? The card can make for a more impactful late game draw and still be good mid game so I will give it a try.
Thanks for the suggestion and will try to let you know the results of the card after I get another copy (only own 1 atm).

All good. I do love that Gideon, Ally of Zendikar gives everyone indestructible. I've versed a few Odric, Lunarch Marshal decks but never seen him used. Love the synergy.

Returning back to this deck after a brief test of a new deck idea. Was testing a r/u deck based on modules but returning to this deck because I realized I forgot to give a test to a card I said I would (Fleetwheel Cruiser). Realized what I am going to pull from deck to test: Stitcher's Graft. Reason for this decision is that the graft won't work well with the vehicle anyways and will move it to the sidedeck for matches I feel the equipment will have more value.
Will post results this weekend after testing at FNM. Still welcome all comments and suggestions.

Have you considered a couple of Fleetwheel Cruiser for trample and haste? The 5/3 body is pretty sweet as well.
