More directly, in multiplayer, when dealing with the ability, you choose which opponent will be making the guess.
It's like using Fact or Fiction in multiplayer: as the ability resolves, you choose which opponent "an opponent" is. It's not targeted, so your opponent having protection or hexproof won't prevent you from selecting them.
The primary difference is that with effects that use the stack, at least, targets are selected when the spell/ability is put on the stack, while effects like Six-y Beast and Fact or Fiction that don't say "target" are selected when the effect resolves (or at another appropriate time, such as with Six-y Beast.

So on Six-y Beast, it just says AN opponent, not target opponent. How would this work in a multi-player game?
